U-TURN AAU offers both girls and boys teams.
Our boys age groups range from 9u-17u. The girls start at 11u and go through 16u (Juniors).
Why is it beneficial to play AAU basketball?
AAU basketball is an institution that builds team concepts and provides a competitive environment in which to do so. Any basketball player who wishes to continue their playing career goes through the AAU ranks. Those players who play AAU basketball have a huge advantage on their middle school and high school teams to those who do not. It requires a commitment of your time and to your team, but the benefits of building life long friendships all the while developing your game are well worth it. |

| Why should I choose U-TURN as my AAU home?
U-TURN AAU could not be more proud of our facility, our coaches and our administration.
If you have not seen the VERY NEW improvements to U-TURN you are really missing out. The facility looks amazing! We now have a game room boasting pool tables, arcade games, pinball and more! Also, a café has been added so parents and kids can enjoy a healthy meal before, during or after practice. Because all our age groups’ practices are held at U-TURN Sports Performance Academy an atmosphere of camaraderie ensues.
Our coaches here at U-TURN care first and foremost about the kids’ experience and development. They are an experienced group of men and women who truly believe in U-TURN’s mission of superior athletic training along with sound biblical guidance. Though we are an extremely competitive AAU organization, our coaches are very much focused on teaching life lessons through the game we all love.
We, as AAU administrators, are committed to making your AAU experience stress-free. Each of the 15 teams we field will get the same amount of dedicated attention to ensure a season that runs smoothly. A new set of guidelines and procedures outlined in a 2008 Handbook will assist us in making sure there are no grey areas in how our program is run.
What does U-TURN offer that no one else does?
The U-TURN Warriors practice, train, and play at the U-TURN
Sports Performance Academy which is centrally
located within 20 minutes from most areas of Richmond, VA. We
have our own 155,000 sq. ft. unique training facility supplying all
our athlete's needs (2 college sized and 2 high school sized basketball courts, a large weight room, athletic training room,
study areas, wireless internet access, and more). We provide qualified staff including nationally
certified strength coaches, plus experienced
skill trainers and coaches. Our coaching staff is made up of a unique
blend of coaching experience and personal development trainers.
Not only will our teams be well coached, but each athlete will return
to their respective high school or middle school teams significantly
improved having had the U-TURN training experience. |
